Muscat: Oman national futsal team started training under the watchful eyes of coach Younis Al Fahdi on Monday. The training camp lasts till January 11.
According to information provided by the Oman Football Association (OFA), the Omani players are undergoing the training camp as part of their preparations for the upcoming Asian qualifiers and the Gulf Cup.
Coach Younis Al Fahdi had called up 18 probables for the camp and is likely to add more players to the squad in the coming days.
The players who are currently undergoing camp are Samer Al Balushi, Essa Al Balushi, Omar Al Hasani, Rashid Al Ghafri, Ayman Al Souli, Hisham Al Wahaibi, Abdulaziz Al Raqadi, Idrees Al Jasasi, Essa Al Jabri, Nibras Al Balushi, Mazin Al Balushi, Suhail Al Hamimi, Mohammed Al Siyabi, Khalfan Al Maawali, Mazin Al Hasani, Hisham Al Zaabi, Muutasim Al Shamsi and Jafaar Al Balushi.
At the end of the camp, the coach will finalise the list of players that will be representing Oman in the international tournaments. The selected players will undergo further training camps every month with focus on tactical, technical and physical training.
Transfer window
Meanwhile, Omantel Professional League (OPL) ‘issued a reminder to clubs’ to complete all their ‘transfer business’ by Junaury 27.
According to an OFA statement, the transfer window opened on December 31 and the schedule was finalised before the start of the the season when OPL officials communicated to FIFA the exact dates of the transfer window.
The OPL also communicated to the clubs ‘to complete registration of all their players within the prescribed time, to check the information and details provided for any mistakes on the football management system as well as the FIFA system’.
