His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik: Driving Oman forward

Muscat: Locals and expats in Oman have expressed confidence in the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to take the Sultanate forward and ensure the country continues to be a friend to all in the region and the world.
In his coronation speech, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik said, “We shall march forward on this road so that Oman can maintain its prominent place in which late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimour wished to position it, the goal he worked to realise.”
“We will continue to maintain contacts with our brethren, the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council, to enhance our country’s march to realise our peoples’ aspirations,” he added.
Hamoud Al Azri is the designer of the personal website of the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimour. He is confident that Sultan Haitham will continue the good works of his late predecessor, and said, “May God bless His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on his path to continue what the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimour had built, and may he achieve the hopes and dreams of the Omani youth, who are the leaders of Oman’s march to glory.”
Preserving the legacy
Another Omani national, Salim Al Shanfari, said he stood behind the leadership of Sultan Haitham, as His Majesty’s first words were about preserving the legacy of the late leader.
“Sultan Haitham’s rule represents a new era,” he explained. “The first words he spoke were about preserving the legacy of our late leader. We remain loyal to his teachings and instructions, and we will continue the march for the better. Our youth is our strength, they are our hope for the future, they will contribute to the eternal investment of a prosperous and ambitious Oman.
Meeting the aspirations
Jassim Al Balushi, the deputy head of training and professional development at National University of Science and Technology, added, “We will always support His Majesty Sultan Haitham to lead Oman towards achievements that will help it rank internationally among the world’s most advanced and developed countries. We hope that His Majesty focuses on meeting the aspirations of the people, and does what is best for the betterment of their lives.”
Mukund Manohar, a long-term Indian expat, who grew up, like so many other local and foreign nationals, under the reign of late Sultan Qaboos, was hopeful Oman would continue to remain a symbol of peace and tolerance under Sultan Haitham. “As long term expats, we share the Omani values and wish all our Omani brothers and sisters all the happiness, success and prosperity,” he said.
