Schools in Oman to raise flags marking the end of 40-day mourning period

Muscat: The Ministry of Education has ordered schools in the country to raise their national flags from Thursday, January 20, 2020, marking the end of the 40-day mourning period.

Singing the national anthem, however will continue to be skipped, until further instructions are given by the responsible authorities.

Wednesday marks the final day of the official 40-day mourning period that was declared by the Diwan of Royal Court following the passing of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimur.
