New airport by year end in Oman: minister

Muscat: Oman's long-awaited Muscat International Airport is 96 per cent complete, according to Dr. Mohammad bin Nasser Al Zaabi, the CEO of the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA).

He said that most of the work is complete regarding the project and will be done in the next few months.

"Operational tests are currently being conducted," he added.

Dr Ahmed Al Futaisi, Minister of Transport and Communications said the terminal will be in operation by end of year.

This was announced during the ministry's annual media meeting on Sunday.
