Noor Eddine Al Salmi seminar begins in Oman

Muscat: A seminar celebrating Sheikh Abdullah bin Humaid Al Salmi, "Noor Eddine Al Salmi" was opened at the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Muscat on Wednesday under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Minister of Heritage and Culture.
The seminar was organised by Oman National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, in coordination with the Al Salmi Private Library in the Wilayat of Bidiya.
The seminar comes as Al Salmi is one of the Omani personalities listed in the UNESCO's programme to celebrate the jubilee or centenary anniversary of important historical events and globally influential figures.
The seminar included the main working paper entitled (Al Aqdi Approach of Sheikh Noor Eddine Al Salmi) delivered by Sheikh Aflah bin Ahmed Al Khalili. The paper was followed by honouring the seminar's speakers and organisers of the seminar.
After that, the seminar resumed by conducting two sessions. The first session included three working papers. The first paper was presented by Prof. Radhwan el Sayyed. The second paper was presented presented by Prof. Mahmoud Mustafa while the third paper was presented by Prof. Muhammad Kamal Imam.
The second session included three papers. The first titled "Historical Approach of al Salmi" presented by Professor Jerzy Zdanowski, followed by a paper entitled "Poetic and literary Side of Al Salmi" delivered by Dr. Hilal bin Said al-Hajri. The last paper titled "Linguistic Approach of Al Salmi" presented by Sheikh Ismail bin Nasser Al Oufi.
The opening ceremony of the seminar was attended by a number of their highnesses, ministers, undersecretaries, sheikhs, scholars and intellectuals from inside and outside the Sultanate.
