Muscat: The Sultanate , represented by the Directorate-General for Scouts and Guides at the Ministry of Education, obtained the first place at the 59th World Scout Jamboree for amateur radio communications and the 20th World Scout Jamboree on the internet last October.
The World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM) stated in the final report that the Sultanate managed to communicate with 146 countries.
The United States came second with 97 countries, and Canada third with 92 countries around the world. The report put the Sultanate’s scouts and girl guides among the first five countries in the number of participants in the two events.
