Fake news: child abduction sketches and story untrue, says Oman police

Muscat: Sketches of two female "child abductors" circulating on social media were not issued by Royal Oman Police and are part of a fake news story, officials have said.
"The sketches are not issued by ROP, " Royal Oman Police tweeted on its official account.
Since Monday evening, sketches of the two women have been on social networking sites warning parents that they are child abductors operating around the Darsait area of Muscat.
The note also claimed that the information was issued by ROP in Darsait. Royal Oman Police took to Twitter to tell worried parents the story is untrue.
The sketches were originally released by Indian police in Mumbai and were circulated by Indian police around schools in Mumbai.
