Oman's Majlis Al Shura Office discusses private museums, other issues

Muscat: Several ministerial replies, letters from the Majlis standing committees and some citizens’ letters were among the issues discussed by Majlis Al Shura Office on Tuesday.
At its 8th meeting it also discussed the reply of the Council of Ministers to the Majlis report on organising work of private museums in the Sultanate.
It was affirmed that the new Heritage Act will address some recommendations of Majlis to amend the regulation of private museums.
The Majlis Al Shura Office also discussed several ministerial replies, letters from the Majlis standing committees and some citizens’ letters, in addition to letters and memoranda of external parliaments and organisations.
The office also praised the reply of the Minister of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources on the outcome of discussions of Majlis Al Shura members while delivering the ministry’s statement during the first annual sitting.
The office was also briefed on the reply of the Minister of Transport and Communications regarding the question addressed to him about the integration of logistics services to Salalah Airport and the Port of Salalah.
The reply stated that the Omani Global Logistics Group (OGLG) formed a working group that aims to reach an integrated logistics and commercial system with the free zone and enhance the volume of imports and exports through the port and the airport. The team is studying the opportunities, challenges, solutions and following up their implementation.
