Efforts on to trace Omani siblings

Muscat: Thirty-five divers from the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulances (PACDA) and six other volunteers from the Sohar Diving Club have joined efforts to find two Omani brothers who have been missing at sea since last Thursday evening, officials said.
Two Omani brothers went missing at sea in the Abu Abali area of Mussanah province while on a fishing mission.
Their boat, in which the duo had set off for a fishing trip, was found on the coast in the adjoining Barka province, with no trace of the two brothers.
“The report came a few days ago but deep sea searches are out of our jurisdiction. The coast guards and the Royal Navy operate in those areas,” said a PACDA official.
“We have been assigned to do sweeps near the coast at predetermined points,” the official added.
Earlier this week, PACDA had deployed a large number of life guards in Tiwi as many tourists visit this beach on weekends.
