Oman, Czech Republic hold political consultations

Muscat: Oman and the Czech Republic discussed means of enhancing cooperation in diverse fields on Sunday.
The discussionis were held at the 2nd Political Consultations Session between the two sides held at the General Diwan of the Foreign Ministry on Sunday.
The Omani side was chaired by Dr. Mohammed bin Awad Al Hassan, Acting Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Diplomatic Affairs, while the Czech was chaired by Martin Tlapa, Deputy Minister for non-European Countries and Economic Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the session, the two sides discussed means of enhancing cooperation in various political, economic, trade and investment areas, as well as exchanging scientific, technical and academic expertise between the two friendly countries.
The session also exchanged viewpoints on a number of regional and international issues of common concern.
The session was attended by Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Hina’ei, Head of the East Europe Department and some officials at the Foreign Ministry.

A business delegation from the Czech Republic headed by Vice President of the Czech Chamber of Commerce was received by Said bin Saleh Al Kiyoumi, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) in his office on Sunday in the presence of Martin Tlapa.
During the meeting, Eng. Riydha bin Juma Al Saleh, OCCI Deputy Chairman for Administrative and Financial Affairs gave a speech, in which he explained that these meetings contribute in enhancing the existing trade and economic relations between the two friendly countries.
On his turn, the Czech Deputy Foreign Minister hailed the cooperation ties binding the two countries and Oman’s strategic location, looking forward to enhance bilateral business relations.
He also pointed out that the trade exchanges between the two countries should be direct without any intermediary or third party.
The Czech delegation comprises 18 companies in textiles, livestock, food staff, security and safety techniques, internal design, medicine, facilities, chemical and petrochemical industries.
