Muscat: Retail trading dominated Sunday’s session and the MSM30 Index closed at 5,808.43 points, up 0.10 per cent. The MSM Shariah Index gained 0.09 per cent to end at 858.84 points. Al Madina Takaful was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. Sunday’s top gainer was Al Madina Investment, up 7.69 per cent, while National Gas was the top loser with a loss of 1.45 per cent.
A total number of 686 trades were executed on Sunday, generating turnover of OMR2.57 million with 19.55 million shares changing hands. Out of 35 traded securities, 15 advanced, 5 declined and 15 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors switched to net buyers for OMR319,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR244,000 followed by Foreign investors for OMR75,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index gained 0.37 per cent to finish at 8,087.91 points. Al Madina Investments, Oman United Insurance, NBO, Gulf Investment Services and Al Anwar Holding increased 7.69 per cent, 2.13 per cent, 1.23 per cent, 0.85 per cent and 0.53 per cent respectively. Taageer Finance and Oman & Emirates Holding declined 0.75 per cent and 0.69 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index ended at 7,720.43 point, up 0.34 per cent. Al Hassan Engineering, Oman Fisheries, Oman Fisheries, Al Jazeera Steel and Al Anwar Ceramics gained 1.75 per cent, 1.50 per cent, 0.89 per cent, 0.75 per cent and 0.65 per cent respectively.
Services Index was stable at 3,018.22 points, up 0.01 per cent. United Power, Al Jazeera Services and Ooredoo increased 4.78 per cent, 4.42 per cent and 0.65 per cent respectively. National Gas, Port Services and OIFC declined 1.45 per cent, 0.79 per cent and 0.45 per cent respectively.
