Coronavirus outbreak: Oman’s health minister chairs meeting

Muscat: A meeting was conducted between various authorities to review the efforts for addressing Coronavirus.

The meeting reviewed the most important measures taken by the Ministry of Health and the concerned authorities to address the outbreak of Coronavirus, and the emergency plans arranged in the land, sea and air outlets.

A meeting of the Medical Response Sector and the Public Health Sector held a meeting at the Emergency Management Centre of the Ministry of Health to review and follow up the efforts made by the concerned authorities to address the emerging Coronavirus.

The Ministry of Health quoted , “Headed by His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammad Al Saidi, Minister of Health, and in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Mohammad bin Saif Al Hosani, Undersecretary for Health Affairs, Head of the Medical Response Sector and Public Health, members of the Sultan Armed Forces, Royal Oman Police (ROP), and the Public Authority for Civil Defence and Ambulance (PACDA).”

“He also highlighted public health contingency plans, the importance of coordination between health agencies at all levels and specialties, and the preparedness and role of the private health sector in this regard.” They added.

His Excellency the minister thanked all the supporting bodies for taking care of the public interest and ensuring the Sultanate's readiness for such outbreaks.
