Moderate to heavy rains predicted over Oman

Muscat: Several parts of Oman will receive heavy to moderate rainfall starting from Monday.

According to the Oman Meteorology Department, “Troughs from tomorrow morning till Wednesday morning will influence atmosphere to the north of the Sultanate with the possibility of moderate and sometimes heavy rains in Musandam governorate and scattered rains over the coast of Oman Sea. This will be accompanied by a rise in sea waves at the coasts of Musandam and the Oman Sea (medium to rough waves up to 2.5 meters in height).”

“It is possible that the situation will be followed by active northwesterly winds starting from Tuesday evening leading to a noticeable decrease in temperatures across most of the governorates of the Sultanate, especially over the mountainous and desert regions. This will also be accompanied by an escalation of dust storms at desert and open areas that may extend to the coasts of Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates," the forecast added.
