Omanis and other small business owners in the region are finding the Muscat Festival an ideal opportunity to display, promote and sell their products as people from various walks of life visit the venues, particularly thronging the exhibition of consumer goods.
Products such as frankincense, perfume, jewellery and several food products such as honey, sweets and dates are on display. Entrepreneurs are happy about the turnout and sales they have made.
A Yemeni honey seller said, “I’ve been participating in the Muscat Festival every year and am glad to see a lot of people visiting my stall to try out the Yemeni honey.”
Amani Al Jabri, who is working part-time at the festival, selling textiles and fabric, said it is a good opportunity for the youth to hone their sales skills.
“I think it’s a good opportunity for us to train ourselves in how to bargain and sell merchandise. Small and medium businesses, including family-owned businesses, will benefit from the festival,” said Al Jabri.
The Muscat Festival hosts consumer goods’ exhibitions at both Amerat Park and Naseem Gardens with a cornucopia of items and products on offer at competitively cheap prices.
