We will win the battle against Coronavirus, says Chinese envoy

Muscat: China will be able to control the outbreak and win the battle against Coronavirus, Chinese Ambassador to Oman said.
Li Lingbing, Chinese Ambassador to Oman, said in an exclusive interview, “We are quite confident that we will control the disease and win the battle under the Chinese Communist Party and the power of socialism with the support of the international community and the expertise and technology of China.”

She also said that the Chinese government is communicating with the World Health Organization (WHO) to control this virus.
“A team of experts from WHO has visited Wuhan and the Director General of the World Health Organization, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has visited China and met with the Chinese President, wherein they exchanged views on the efforts for combating the outbreak of Coronavirus and praised the efforts of China and its contributions to this effect.”
“Since the outbreak of the new Coronavirus, the Government of China has taken more comprehensive and strict measures and arrangements, under the direct supervision of President Xi Jinping, to control the outbreak and ensure the protection of the health of the people.
“The Government of China has put in place comprehensive plans to control the outbreak and has sent medical teams to the city of Wuhan and another district to provide necessary support in addition to the strict measures at Wuhan, a city with a population of almost 14 million,” she added.
The government has openly communicated with the international community and has disseminated the information related to the Coronavirus and has informed the WHO and other organisations concerned with information on communicable diseases.
She also confirmed that there is no case of Coronavirus infection among the Omanis living in China. “There is no direct relationship with the Chinese food and what is going around in social media is not true,” she said, adding “The actual reason would be known soon.”
