​All schools in Oman must follow these guidelines during the mourning period

Muscat: The Ministry of Education has issued a notification to all schools in the country asking not to hoist the flag and to skip the national anthem during the mourning period.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Education said: “ In light of the statement received by the Diwan of the Royal Court regarding half mast of flags in the Sultanate for a period of forty days in mourning of the death of the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimur, all schools must not raise the flag of the queue, and skip the paragraphs of the national anthem and chanting.”
