Muscat: From the roller coaster that whirls, soars, twirls and spins to the crazy wave, the rides at the Muscat Festival 2017 promise fun and thrills.
Aside from the cultural offerings, the annual festival has some popular amusement rides, giving the carnival its true spirit.
Children and adults are treated to an exciting evening when they visit the amusement park at the Naseem garden in the Muscat Festival, which houses some entertaining rides for people of every age.
There are rides for children aged two to seven years. These include tea cups, telephone, mini pirate ship, Aladdin, elephant, swinger small, helicopter, small trains, carousel, trampoline and battery car rides.
Children up to the age of 14 can also enjoy swinger big, clown, dropzone, bumper boat, samba balloon, flavio slide and bumper car small. Although a majority of the rides are for children up to 14 years old, there are several rides for people above that age. They can enjoy Tagada, Amour Express, crazy dance, double ranger, bumper car big,kangaroo master jump, wild mouse challenger, Frisbee discovery, crazy wave, wacky worm and pirate ship.
Apart from all these, there are enjoyments such as Rapid River, Mega drop, Magic disco coaster, toys for kids, Cinema 7d, Tour train and Master jump.
Toy trains, swinger small and helicopter rides are also there for kids aged two to five years to enjoy the most during their visit to the festival. “The rides may look scary and are made for adrenaline rush but they are safe. The municipality officials check them properly before these are put into operation,” said a ride operator.
The 24-day Muscat Festival is being held from January 19-February 11, 2017 in Amerat and Naseem Parks. It includes events such as Tour of Oman and other cultural, artistic and motorsports activities.
