ROP arrests 16-year-old boy for setting cars on fire

Muscat: A 16-year-old boy was arrested for setting four cars on fire in Mussandam, a statement from Royal Oman Police (ROP) said.
According to ROP, the boy used to set cars on fire and then inform the owner of the car.
“He used to set the car seats on fire. Then he himself will call the owner and inform about the accident. However, police formed a team and found that the informer himself was the culprit,” ROP statement added.
On Thursday, police added that a suspect was arrested in Barka by ROP for stealing from a parked vehicle and subsequently setting it on fire.
A senior official said, “The department received a report from the vehicle’s owner saying that his vehicle was broken into and the items were stolen.”
“A team was formed to capture the suspect and after investigations we were able to find him and subdue him,” added the official.
