SalamAir’s flight to Salalah diverted, lands safely later

Muscat: Oman’s budget airline SalamAir’s flight that was due to land in Salalah this morning was diverted back to Muscat due to weather conditions.

Once the conditions improved, the flight was sent back to Salalah and was landed safely at the Salalah International Airport.

This information was announced on SalamAir’s official twitter handle.

The statement issued by the officials said: “SalamAir flight OV113 was about to land in Salalah International Airport as scheduled but due to strong winds the pilot in consultation with authorities decided to return back to Muscat International Airport due to safety reasons and landed at Muscat International Airport [at] 2:45 am.”

They also added that: “after the weather conditions improved, flight OV113 departed [from] Muscat International Airport at 9:00 am and landed at [the] Salalah International Airport at 10:40 am.”

SalamAir further said that they trust the judgment of the crew in implementing the highest safety standards for its passengers.

“We assure the same will not be compromised at any time,” the statement read.
