Omani students in China are fine, Embassy affirms

Muscat: The Sultanate’s Embassy in Beijing has confirmed that Omani students studying in the country are doing well and are not affected by the ongoing Coronavirus spread.

This information was announced by the Oman News Agency (ONA).

According to ONA, the Embassy in Beijing said that “the Omani students residing in China are fine and that their conditions are not cause for concern.

They also added that no epidemic cases have been recorded for Coronavirus.

“[Omani officials in China] are following their health conditions [students] continuously and have appealed to them the need to adhere to the preventive measures taken by the Chinese health authorities to deal with this epidemic,” ONA reported.

As of Sunday, some 1,975 people are believed to have been infected, with at least 56 deaths reported. Chinese state news reported some 324 people to be in critical condition.
