Coronavirus outbreak: Oman airports screen passengers

Muscat: Oman Airports have informed that it has started examining passengers arriving at all its airports following the outbreak of coronavirus in China and other Asian countries.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) said: “The authority is following developments in monitoring new cases of Coronavirus infection in the People's Republic of China, and it is verifying the readiness of international airports in the Sultanate to deal with them according to the working mechanisms prepared for such cases related to public health.”

“The joint efforts between the authority, the Ministry of Health and the relevant authorities are continuing to prepare for respond and deal with potential cases according to the results of the continuous evaluation to maintain the safety of travellers, airport workers and society,” they added.
