Sultan Qaboos was a symbol of wisdom, says UN chief

Muscat: His Excellency António Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, expressed his sincere condolences on the passing of the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimur.

Guterres praised the wisdom of His Majesty the late Sultan and described his departure as a great loss for the Omani people and for the whole world. “The late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos was a symbol of wisdom and a high stature who brought peace to the region and contributed more than anyone else in order to respect peace in the world. ”

“The late His Majesty left a profound impact on everyone who knew him. I hope that the Sultanate will continue to benefit from all the achievements made by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos,” he added.
