Streamlining of fuel supply to vessels in Omani ports discussed

Muscat: Supply of fuel to vessels in Omani ports and their concession areas as well as the procedures to do it were discussed at a meeting yesterday.
This activity is very important in attracting the largest possible number of vessels to benefit from this service.
The meeting was held by the Ministry of Transport and Communications, represented by the Directorate General for Marine Affairs, with the management offices of the Omani ports and the relevant public and private agencies yesterday.
The meeting, which was held under the chair of Said bin Hamdoon Al Harthi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, is one of the outputs and recommendations of the National Programme for Enhancing Economic Diversification (Tanfeedh).
Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed Al Kiyoumi, Director General of Marine Affairs made a presentation on the challenges and procedures followed in this activity. Participants at the meeting came out with several procedures and regulations that facilitate getting permits and opening the door for competition in this business.
The meeting also took several steps that facilitate work and promote the activity inside the Omani ports and their concession areas.
