Muscat: Visitors to the 2017 Muscat Festival will have more reasons for cheer than in the past.
With exciting events lined up, organisers of the Muscat Festival say it will be better than in
the past. During the 24-day festival there will be events and performances throughout the Sultanate
of Oman. This year, the festival starts on Thursday, January 19, and continues until February 11.
The festival will be held in Naseem Gardens and Al Amerat Park, and will feature activities such as touring a tropical rain forest, paintball, fireworks, an open theatre, performances of folklore and bands, and a plaza to host a variety of performances, such as a flame show, African show and air-trampoline shows.
Besides this, there will be acrobatic events, educational programs, contests and recreational programs for children, cartoon characters and a large number of food courts for visitors at
both venues. Amerat Park will also host a heritage village, which provides a glimpse of the traditional Omani lifestyle.
Since it began in February 1998, Muscat Festival has invented and reinvented itself, becoming a major entertainment spectacle, plus a carnival and a shopping wonder, all rolled into one.
