Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, presided over the military parade for the last time on November 18. The parade was staged at the military parade ground of Said Bin Sultan’s Naval Base on the occasion of the 49th National Day.
Symbolic units representing the Royal Army of Oman, the Royal Air Force of Oman, the Royal Navy of Oman, the Royal Guard of Oman, the Sultan’s Special Force, the Royal Oman Police and the Royal Court Affairs had taken part in the military parade.
On the arrival of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to the parade ground, Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office, Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib Al Busaidi, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs, Lt. Gen Ahmed bin Harith Al Nabhani, SAF Chief of Staff and Rear Admiral Abdullah bin Khamis Al Ra’eesi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) had received His Majesty.
Upon His Majesty’s ascension to the Royal Box, the parade columns had given the military salute, the Royal Anthem was played by the combined military musical band while the artillery had fired a twenty-one gun salute to His Majesty.
Afterwards, the commander of the parade column came to the Royal Box requesting permission from His Majesty, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to start the military parade, which had begun with the joint military musical parade band that represents the corps of the SAF, RGO, ROP and RCA, which passed in slow and regular march before the Royal Box.
Then, the columns of the Protocols Guard had performed its military parade accompanied with musical pieces of the joint military music in a slow and regular motion passing before the Royal Box, giving the military salute to His Majesty, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
Afterwards, the commander of the parade column had approached the Royal Box requesting permission from His Majesty, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to start the military parade, which began with the joint military musical parade band that represents the corps of the SAF, RGO, ROP and RCA, which passed in slow and regular march before the Royal Box.
Then, the columns of the Protocols Guard had performed its military parade accompanied with musical pieces of the joint military music in a slow and regular motion passing before the Royal Box, giving the military salute to His Majesty, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
Then, the combined music horseback marching band and the horse riders of the RGO Cavalry and the Royal Cavalry of the RCA had staged a performance passing before the Royal Box.
After that, the joint military musical parade band staged various musical pieces. Then, the columns of the Protocols Guard chanted the military anthem “Fal Taslami Oman”.
The Protocols Guard chanted the call of Loyalty and Allegiance and proclaimed thrice long live His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
Then, the Royal Anthem was played and the columns of the Protocols Guard gave the military Salute to His Majesty the Sultan, signalling the conclusion of the military parade. Then, His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces had left the Military Parade Ground surrounded by Allah Care.
His Majesty the Sultan was accompanied during the parade by their highnesses, the chairmen of the State Council and Majlis Al Shura, their excellencies the ministers, advisers, commanders of SAF, RGO, SSF , ROP and the military and security apparatuses, honourable members of the State Council and members of Majlis Al Shura, and other top dignitaries.
