Muscat: The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries called on fishermen and seafarers to take precautions and to not risk venturing into the sea because of a low air groove which started on Thursday and will continue till Monday, the 12th of January, according to Oman’s Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA).
The Ministry said in a statement: “The Ministry calls on fishermen and seafarers to take precautions due to the influence of a low air groove over the northern airspace of the Sultanate.”
The weather pattern will cause the sea waves to rise and extension of the waves in the low lying coastal areas coincides with the highest tidal level.
The Ministry said that the precautions are required to ensure safety of fishermen and seafarers as well as the safety of their boats, ships and equipment.
