Oman accident: Missing Indian found dead

Muscat: An Indian salesman who was missing for the last 25 days has been found dead, said an official of the company where the victim was working.
“He had gone missing in the middle of December. My staff had been coordinating with the police. Yesterday, the police and hospital authorities told us that he had died in a road accident near Rustaq. His body has been shifted to Khoula Hospital. We are coordinating with the embassy for repatriation of the body,” the official added.
The victim, identified as Irshad Tahiko, 23, from the southern Indian state of Kerala, was working at a hypermarket near Musannah.
The death notification certificate noted that he was admitted to the hospital with injuries following a road accident in Suwaiq.
He was admitted to the Suwaiq clinic and then shifted to Rustaq on December 14. However, he succumbed to his injuries on December 15.“In the past too, he had gone missing twice. We were looking for him. Now, we have informed his family about the tragedy,” the official said.
Meanwhile, Marzook T, a relative of the victim in Muscat, said they are trying their best to repatriate the body Tuesday night itself.
“We are in a shock after learning that he had met with an accident and passed away 25 days ago. We were looking for him. It is an unbelievable situation,” Marzook said, adding that paper work was being processed to repatriate the body.
The victim had arrived in Oman only about four months ago.
