Muscat: Sohar’s newly constructed landfill received its first consignment of waste shipped from different wilayats in North Al Batinah governorate on Saturday. The project was inaugurated by the Oman Environmental Services Holding Company (Be’ah).
Engineer Tariq Al Amri, CEO of Be’ah, said the company has started shutting down the traditional landfills in the governorate.
One of eleven
“This project is one of the eleven engineered landfills to be built across the Sultanate, which are drafted and designed as per international environmental and engineering standards,” he explained.
