Oman coach Talib Hilal calls up two new players ahead of AFC Beach Soccer Championship

Muscat: Coach Talib Hilal Al Thanawi has called up two new players to Oman national beach soccer team as the Sultanate squad prepares to defend their AFC Beach Soccer Championship title which they won in 2015.
The 2017 edition of the Asian championship is scheduled to be organised in Malaysia in March.
Talib’s boys, who bagged the silver medal at the Asian Beach Games held in Vietnam in October 2016, are currently undergoing a training camp which lasts till January 14.
According to information provided by Oman Football Association (OFA) on Sunday, the four new players called up by Talib are Mohammed Al Siyabi, Awadh Al Yousefi, Nibras Al Sabri and Hussain Al Ajmi.
The other players of the 14-member team that are attending the camp at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex are Haitham Shuwan, Yahya Al Araimi, Mishal Al Araimi, Jalal Al Sinani, Munther Al Araimi, Khalid al Araimi, Amjad Al Hamdani, Abdullah Al Balushi, Sharif Al Balushi and Noah Al Zedjali.

Draw on Monday
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) will, meanwhile, conduct the draw for the 14-team championship in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur on Monday.
The competition, which also serves as the qualifiers for the 2017 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup to be organised in Bahamas, will see the participating teams divided into two groups of five teams and one group of four teams.
The group winners and the best second-placed team from the three groups will qualify for the semifinals.
Top ranked Oman are placed in Pot 1 along with second ranked Japan and third ranked Iran.
The top three teams from the Asian championship will qualify for the 2017 World Cup to be held in the Bahamas from April 27 to May 7.
The teams (rankings in brackets as per 2015 championship placings) will be drawn as follows: Pot 1: Oman (1st), Japan (2nd), Islamic Republic of Iran (3rd); Pot 2: Lebanon (4th), United Arab Emirates (5th), Bahrain (6th); Pot 3: Uzbekistan (7th), China PR (8th), Iraq (9th); Pot 4: Thailand (10th), Qatar (11th); Pot 5: Afghanistan (unranked), Malaysia (unranked), Myanmar (unranked).
