More than 42,000 people to benefit from new water project in Oman

Muscat: The Public Authority for Water (Diam), announced that the total household connections reached 8,500 in Al Kamil Wal Wafi, North Al Sharqiyah governorate. According to Diam, 42,500 people will benefit from the new project.

“With the beginning of 2020, we will present to you the project of constructing water networks in Wilayat Al Kamil Wal Wafi, the first phase, and the areas that will be covered by the project.”

“The current water system consists of six tankers filling stations in Al Kamil Wal Wafi in North Al Sharqiyah governorate, and the average number of beneficiaries is 24,565 beneficiaries,” Diam said in a statement.

Diam clarified that the number of current subscribers in Al Kamil Wal Wafi is 4,913 thousand subscribers.

Diam has put forward the first drainage tender scheme for the year 2020 for the project of constructing water networks in Wilayat Al Kamil Wal Wafi, the first phase, which is into effect.

“The areas will be included in the new project are: Tay, Tahwa, Laa Valley, Gharara, Tawi Aisha, Al Mansour, Al Ghubeirat, Tawi Hatroush, opposite to Imam Market, Al Najd, Hadri Bilad, Tawi Hatem, Industrial Zone, Al Haiw, Tawi Shagilah, Al Imam Suq, Al Ghailin, Shouf Al Ain and Al Rumailah,” the statement added.
