Muscat: More than 390 boxes of cheese were destroyed by the Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) in a shop in Nizwa after they found a rotten cheese being sold at the shop.
The PACP said it had received a complaint from a consumer over detecting puffiness and change in the colour of a cheese product that he had purchased from the commercial shop. Following the report, PACP officials pulled a sample from the cheese and found out rottenness in the sample in addition to high rate of bacteria.

In another case, PACP officials in Sohar caught an expatriate worker who was displaying 835 expired beauty products for sale.
The products included makeup and soaps. “When asked, the accused said he did not notice the expiry date,” PACP said.
