With Oman being a country that primarily experiences hot and dry climate throughout the year, there’s nothing better than cooling off with a visit to your local water park.
While one aqua park – Hawana Salalah – is currently open in the Dhofar governorate, another one is expected to come up in Muscat in the second quarter of 2020, and if the success of Hawana is anything to go by, then this aqua park is sure to be super popular as well!
“A wave pool, various other pools, rapid water slides and a kid’s pool with different smaller slides provide endless fun and thrills for all,” said Orascom Hotels Management, one of the investors behind the Hawana project. “Adrenaline junkies are particularly fond of the slide tower, from where you can plunge into adventure from the very top of a palm covered gallery.
“Comfortable loungers separated by generous sunshades give guests plenty of room for reading and relaxing,” added Orascom. “The little ones have fun on the playground, and when they get hungry after so much exercise, the food court with all kinds of drinks and delicacies is only a few steps away.”

A statement from Fanar Hotel, one of the resorts attached to the water park, said, “Spread across 65,000 square metres, Hawana Salalah will offer world-class water slides, children’s playground, a wave pool, children’s pools and a variety of different rides. High-speed slides, boomerang slides, and other fun-filled slides are available for full family fun attraction.”
If, however, Salalah is too far for you, worry not! Tourists, as well as those who live in Oman, should pack their sunscreen and get ready to splash around in the new water park that is coming to Oman next year. The Polin Group, a world renowned water parks brand, is making a grand entrance in the GCC next year, starting with their first project in Muscat.
After their successes in various ventures around the world including France, Turkey and Croatia, the Polin group is now constructing a waterpark at Al Bustan.
