Muscat: Dragged down by telecom stocks, the MSM30 index ended lower at 5744.59 points, down by 0.66 per cent. The MSM Sharia Index fell by 0.45 per cent to close at 865.14 points. Bank Nizwa was the most active in terms of volume and Ooredoo Oman was the most active in terms of turnover. Bank Nizwa was the top gainer, up 6.02 per cent while Ooredoo Oman was the top loser, down by 7.27 per cent.
A total number of 469 trades were executed on Sunday, generating a turnover of OMR2.24 million with 7.087 million shares changing hands. Out of 26 traded securities, 10 advanced, 4 declined and 13 remained unchanged. Oman investors were net buyers of RO16,000 while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR15,000followed by GCC investors for OMR1,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index ended at 7,739.21 points, up by 0.88 per cent. Bank Nizwa, HSBC Bank Oman, Alizz Islamic Bank and Al Madina Investment increased by 6.02 per cent, 4.17 per cent, 2.78 per cent and 1.78 per cent, respectively. Ahli Bank was the only loser and was down by 3.06 per cent to close at OMR0.190.
Industrial Index gained 0.13 per cent to close at 7,417.21 points. Oman Fisheries, and Al Anwar Ceramics gained by 1.64 per cent and 0.59 per cent, respectively.
Services Index ended at 3,029.60 points, down by 0.95 per cent. Phoenix Power was the only gainer in the sector and was up by 2.04 per cent to close at OMR0.150. Ooredoo Oman, Oman Telecommunications Company and Al Jazeira Services declined by 7.27 per cent, 4.29 per cent and 0.52 per cent, respectively.
