Muscat: The Royal Hospital (RH), along with its services and affiliated National Centres, received the International Accreditation from Accreditation Canada, an organisation that approves standards of excellence in quality care and services of Canadian health institutions and hospitals.
The main objective of the accreditation is to develop systems of delivering high quality services and promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement. The procedures of obtaining accreditation at Royal Hospital included two assessments: an initial assessment in February 2014, and final assessment in November 2016.
The latter covered the evaluation of the policies and procedures of the administrative and medical services. The assessment included a visit by five Canadian experts from 20 to 24 November, for the purpose of assessing the hospital’s compliance.
