Muscat: An earthquake of magnitude 5 on the Richter scale was reported in Southern Iran, at 5:53 am Oman time.
The epicenter was 564 km away from Musandam governorate, the Sultan Qaboos University Earthquake Monitoring Centre (EMC) reported on Friday.
The EMC confirmed that: “ An earthquake occurred this morning at 5:53 am local time in Southern Iran, Bushehr with magnitude of 5 and depth of 20 km, about 564 km from Khassab in Musandam governorate."
