Makeup trends to try for New Year’s Eve

Nothing is too much if you’re getting ready to bring in the New Year. So here are 6 trending looks that aren’t just bold, but also a little different. What’s your pick?

1 Neon pink
We saw fashion designers embracing this brilliant shade on the catwalk, so there is no reason to not include it in our makeup palette. Go for bold, matte pink for the eyes, and couple it with the same shade of shimmery lip colour. Yes, it is bold and definitely beautiful.

2 Inner shimmer
Go for a matte eye shadow and dab some shimmer to only the inner corners. But don’t hesitate to be absolutely generous with the shimmer. If you are keeping your makeup subtle, make sure your lipstick has a nice sheen to it.

3 Bronzed to perfection
Just the name sounds so exotic, doesn’t it? And we assure you, so is the look. Bring out your glossiest lipstick, metallic eye shadows and a shimmery bronzer, and use them all together. Stick to shades of light pink and brown for this look.

4 Green feline
An unconventional style deserves an unconventional name. The good thing about this look is that even though it is bright and bold (you’d expect that from greens), it is not outrageous. To achieve this look, opt for lime-green sketch eyeliner and draw a bold cat eye. Fill with an eye shadow of the same colour and then use your regular black liner to draw a border along the lash line. The black will make the green pop even more. Finish with a rosy blush and dark lips.

5 Smudged and glittery
If you intend on carrying on your celebrations until the early hours of dawn, there is a good chance you’ll end up with smudged eye makeup. So why not save yourself the trouble of having to retouch your makeup, by starting with a fashionably smudged look right from the beginning. Use a black liner along your waterline and blend outwards to give it the smudged effect. To glam it up, bring in the glitter and use it lightly on the lids and wing it out.

6 Crystallize it
Want to add the glitzy-glam to your evening makeup? You can make any regular makeup look fancier by investing in some quality stick-on crystals (the ones that won’t fall off). Use it along your lash line, at the corner of your eyes, or even on your lips. It’s new year’s eve after all, so why not!
