Al Musandah services encourage business and investment climate in Oman

Muscat: Al Musandah for Professional Projects, an incubated company at the National Business Centre (NBC), has made great strides since its establishment in 2012 by offering a package of services that support business climate, and local and foreign investors in the Sultanate.
Saeed Al Naimi, CEO of Al Musandah for Professional Projects, noted that after nearly four years since the establishment of the firm, its work system has developed and more activities have been incorporated in line with the advancement witnessed by the business sector.
On the major challenges facing entrepreneurship and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Sultanate, Al Naimi said that these challenges include government legislation and laws, and lack of society’s confidence in entrepreneurs. “That is why we, the entrepreneurs, need a range of services and incentives that lack in the SMEs sector in Oman. There is a need to strengthen the community’s trust in local SMEs,” he emphasised.
Role of NBC
“The NBC offers a variety of services of benefit to entrepreneurs,” Al Naimi pointed out. “As an incubated company at NBC, we have benefited from the offered guidance and counseling, training, administrative support, and reputation. Such incubation centres and programmes play a major role in developing the capacities of startups and block challenges on the way,” he said.
He added, the firm is constantly working on developing its efforts and gain extensive management expertise. “By being incubated at the NBC, we are gaining experience from entrepreneurs in addition to the events that are being organised by NBC and Riyadain various fields,” he stated.
When asked on the advantages of having at least 10 per cent of the value of purchases and government tenders allocated for the SMEs, Al Naimi said there is no advantage as yet despite trying for several times.
He stressed that Saih Al Shamikhat Symposium’s recommendations were achieved by 40 per cent only. However, he says, ambitious Omani youth need to establish their own businesses and should not rely on a particular job whether in the public or private sector.
