Muscat: Five Omani men who were detained in India for allegedly attempting to marry underage females have been acquitted.
The Indian Court has issued a decision to release the men, an official said.
In a statement online, HE Sheikh Hamed Al Rawahi, Omani Ambassador to India said: "The case has been adjudicated and the accused acquitted. Remaining procedures for the men to leave could take 3 to 4 weeks, after it has been made sure that there is no appeal in the case. Their passports will be handed over to them and exit visas issued."
