Oman, Republic of Cyprus sign visa pact

Muscat: Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs met at the Foreign Ministry's building yesterday with Ioannis Kasoulides, Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Republic of Cyprus and his accompanying delegation, within the framework of his official three-day visit to the Sultanate.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries and means of promoting and enhancing them in various areas.
The two sides also reviewed a number of regional and international issues of common concern.
At the end of the meeting, the two sides signed an agreement on mutual exemption of visas for diplomatic, special and service passports between the two countries.
The meeting was attended from the Omani side by Mohammed bin Yousef Al Zarafi, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Administrative and Financial Affairs and a number of officials at the
ministry, whilst it was attended from the Cypriot side by Andreas Panayiotou, Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Sultanate and the official delegation accompanying the guest.
