Oman, Tunisia sign pact on visa

Muscat: Oman and Tunisia signed an agreement on exemption from visa by both the countries for holders of diplomatic, special and service passports.
The meeting of the Third Session of the Political Consultations Committee between the Sultanate’s Foreign Ministry and Tunisia’s Foreign Ministry was held, yesterday, at the premises of the foreign ministry.
The Omani side was chaired by Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs while the Tunisian side was chaired by Tunisian Foreign Minister Khamis Al Jehinawi.
The two sides reviewed the bilateral relations between the two countries and expanding the scope of common interests between the two countries to cover the various economic and cultural spheres.
The two sides also discussed a number of regional and international issues of common concern and reaffirmed the necessity for dialogue and negotiations as an ideal way to solve political conflicts.
The meeting was attended from the Omani side by Dr. Mohammed bin Awadh Al Hassan, assigned with the duties of the Foreign Ministry’s Undersecretary for diplomatic affairs. From the Tunisian side it was attended by the Tunisian ambassador accredited to the Sultanate, the delegation accompanying the guest and a number of officials from the Tunisian foreign ministry.
