Sayyid Fahd praises strong relations with India

Muscat: His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers received M J Akbar, Minister of State for External Affairs in the Republic of India, yesterday.
M J Akbar is taking part in the 5th Arab Indian Partnership Conference currently being held in Muscat with the participation of a number of ministers, businessmen and investors from the Arab countries and India.
During the meeting, the Indian minister conveyed the greetings of President Pranab Mukherjee and the Government of India along with his wishes of good health and happiness to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and the Omani people further progress and prosperity.
Sayyid Fahd praised the existing bilateral relations between the two countries.
Sayyid Fahd also stressed the significance of Arab–Indian partnership in the economic, commerce and scientific spheres, information technology and exchange of expertise. M J Akbar and his accompanying delegation expressed their delight over the development witnessed in the Sultanate in the various spheres, under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Al Fadhel bin Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Harthi, Secretary General of the Council of Ministers, Said bin Saleh Al Kiyomi Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) and Indra Mani Pandey, Ambassador of the Republic of Indian accredited to the Sultanate.
Minister of the Royal Office
Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu’amani, Minister of the Royal Office received in his office M.J. Akbar, Minister of State for External Affairs in the Republic of India and his accompanying delegation, within the framework of his current visit to the Sultanate yesterday. Gen. Al Nu’amani welcomed the guest, who expressed his delight to visit the Sultanate.
The meeting exchanged cordial conversations and discussed several topics of concern to the two countries.
The two sides reviewed march of the good bilateral relations binding the Sultanate and India to serve the joint interests, besides touching on a number of issues of common concern.
The meeting was attended by the Indian ambassador to the Sultanate.
