Octal registers highest packaging production levels since inception

Muscat: Meeting fast-growing international demand for its fully-recyclable and economically-efficient polyethylene terephthalate (PET) sheet product, Oman’s export powerhouse Octal has achieved a remarkable new monthly record with the production running at 93.9 per cent of its capacity.
Set in the month of October, the landmark accomplishment was realised within just two months of the introduction of a progressive High Performance Shift Team System, developed as part of the company’s commitment to continuous innovation in all aspects of its operations and activities. This increase in capacity utilisation has freed up production to initiate accelerated growth in Asia and Latin America.
“By focusing on working patterns, this results-driven system optimized teamwork and maximised staff focus on improvement and efficiency, delivering high volumes, better staffing and overall delivering better quality with a reduction of its waste. And of course, as with all Octal processes and procedures, the system was based on international best practice and incorporated the latest performance management methods and techniques,” explained Sean Brown, GM Operations at Octal.
“This production milestone is a great credit to the professional skills of Octal’s highly motivated Sheet Department Staff, to their exemplary implementation of the new system, and to their on-going dedication to the success of the company,” he added.
