More than 400 Oman Air flights cancelled until end of year

Muscat: Oman Air have cancelled 424 flights that run on the Boeing 737 MAX airliner, from 12 December until the end of the year, due to the decision by the country’s Public Authority for Civil Aviation to ground all flights that operate the aircraft, until aircraft makers Boeing can find a solution to the safety issues it faces.

15 Oman Air flights have been cancelled on 10 December, while a further 13 have been halted for the 12th. 18 flights have been cancelled on the 13th, while 19 flights have been cancelled for both the 14th and 15th.

22 flights have been scrapped for the 16th, 15 flights on the 17th, and 20 flights for the 18th. Oman Air have also decided to cancel 13 flights on the 19th, 22 flights for the 20th and a further 21 flights for the 21st of this month.

In addition, 23 flights have been stopped for the 22nd, 24 for the 23rd and 22 for the 24th of December. On Christmas Day, 22 planned flights have unfortunately been cancelled, while 16 flights have been taken off from the timetable for the 26th.

27 flight routes have been cancelled for the 27th of December, and for the 28th and 29th, 21 flights apiece have been cancelled. Another 25 flights that were scheduled to take off on the 30th have also been cancelled, while on New Year’s Eve. 31 December, 24 flights have been cancelled.

A statement from Oman Air said in this context, “We are rebooking guests on alternative / next available flights to their destinations. We advise all our guests who are due to travel during the same period to check the flight status or contact our call centre +96824531111.”

The destinations included on these routes include Athens, Mumbai, Delhi, Kathmandu, Jaipur, Amman, Dubai, Bangkok, Nairobi, Salalah and Tehran.
