Oman weather: Police deals with 54 reports within 12 hours

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) dealt with 54 reports of people being stranded in wadis and vehicles being swept away within 12 hours.

Heavy to moderate rain fell in most parts of Oman on Sunday. Most of the wadis were flooded which resulted traffic interruption.

“Al Dhahirah Governorate Police Command dealt with 54 reports of detention of people and vehicle drift during the past 12 hours.”

“ And the police aviation carried out a rescue operation for a family of five people in the Al Khubayb valley in Dhank , as well as the medical evacuation operation of two sick cases.” ROP added

Meanwhile, Royal Oman Police has rescued four people who were trapped inside their vheicle in Al Aitham valley in Masrooq area in Ibri on Monday.

The highest levels of rains was recorded in Ibri reaching 129mm till 9pm on Sunday.
