Guangzhou: Oman Air organised a ceremony at Four Seasons Hotel in Guangzhou on the sidelines of the official launch of the new terminal in the Chinese city.
In his speech on the occsion, Yahya bin Said Al Jabri, chairman of Special Economic Zone Authority-Duqm mentioned the deep-rooted Oman-China ties.
Chinese navigator Zhing’s sea voyage to Salalah 600 years ago was a testimony to the historic, trade and cultural ties between the peoples of the two countries, he said.
He also said that the celebration held under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Minister of Heritage and Culture on 35th anniversary of the arrival of vessel Sohar at the Canton Port in China reflected the strong bilateral ties.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al Saadi, Oman’s ambassador to China and officials from the two sides.
Meanwhile, Oman Air CEO Paul Gregorowitsch, told a press conference at Four Seasons Hotel yesterday, that the company’s remarkable investments supported the expansion plans and growth, mainly in terms of the terminals and the company’s fleet and development of employees by investing some OMR20million to this effect.
