Oman's share index ends marginally lower

Muscat: The MSM30 index ended lower to close at 4508.67 points, down by 0.19 per cent. MSM Sharia Index closed at 613.33 points, down by 0.19 per cent. Al Madina Takaful was the most active in terms of volume while Bank Muscat was active in terms of turnover. The top gainer of the day was Sharqiyah Desalination, up by 2.65 per cent. while the top loser was Al Anwar Holding which closed lower by 2.65 per cent.
A total number of 205 trades were executed during the day's trading session generating turnover of OMR567,000 with more than 3.22 million shares changing hands. Out of 24 traded stocks, 2 advanced, 11 declined and 11 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR87,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR75,000 while GCC and Arab investors remained as net sellers for OMR163,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index lost 0.27 per cent to close at 7,012.71 points. Oman Qatar Insurance went up by 1.74 per cent. Al Anwar Holding, Muscat Finance, Bank Nizwa, Al Madina Takaful and Al Sharqia Investment Holding were down by 2.65 per cent, 2.27 per cent, 1.14 per cent, 1.08 per cent and 1.02 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index lost 0.12 per cent to close at 5,496.71 points. There were no gainers on Wednesday. Oman Fisheries and Galfar Engineering were down by 2.33 per cent and 0.96 per cent respectively.
Services Index lost 0.26 per cent to close at 2,452.42 points. Sharqiyah Desalination was up by 2.65 per cent. Phoenix Power, Almaha Petroleum Products and Al Jazeera Services were down by 1.79 per cent, 1.3 per cent, and 0.93 per cent respectively.
