Muscat: A blood donation campaign is being organised by the Ministry of Manpower at the Oman International Motor Show.
Amid all that steel and rubber, the exhibition will also feature a blood donation stall. Currently, the Sultanate is running low on blood stocks and the ministry encourages all those who can donate.
The exhibition serves as a platform for car manufacturers to compare vehicles and analyse the market for future investment potential in the Sultanate.
In a recent interview, Nadder Abbas, Omanexpo’s General Manager, said, “The potentials and investment opportunities in Oman’s automotive market and the increase in GDP growth in recent years, accompanied by higher income resulting in higher car ownership rates per household and a fast-growing population, has led to Oman being an increasingly vital market for manufacturers.”
“The study carried out by the Ithraa (the Public Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development) identifies the commercial and investment opportunities offered by Oman’s automotive sector, particularly automotive components, which will help boost market potential,” he added.
New vehicle models will be unveiled, with Toyota presenting for the first time their new 2017 Corolla as well as Lexus 2017 IS.
Lucky visitors will have a chance to win an all-new Corolla car as a grand prize in a raffle draw that will also include LED televisions, a smart phone and other prizes at the Toyota Pavilion. Lexus will also give away VOX Imax tickets in a raffle draw every 30 minutes at their pavilion.
Additionally, for the first time, the event will also witness Auto Excellence Awards in which certain vehicles and brands will be judged based on their efforts and achievements.
Activities include a kids’ zone, traffic safety demonstration, test drives and an admirable display of classic cars.
The Oman International Motor Show will continue until Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.
