Muscat: An Irish contestant won first place and an Omani won second place in the Oman Mountain Run Race which concluded yesterday.
The Ministry of Tourism announced: "The second edition of the omanbyutmb Mountain Running Challenge concluded on Saturday evening in Al Hamra where Ireland's Ion Keith was crowned champion of the longest "170 km non-stop" race and a Omani, Hamdan Al Khatri secured second place."
With the participation of about 2,000 runners from 70 countries, including 1,112 Omani runners, the omanbyutmb Mountain Run Challenge was held between November 28 and 30, 2019. The runners pass through a number of tourist sites, archaeological sites, valleys and mountains in the wilayats of Nizwa and Al Hamra as part of the race.
