Minister of information to preside over Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in e-Government ceremony

Muscat: Assigned by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Dr. Abdulmunim bin Mansour Al Hasani, Minister of Information will preside over the award ceremony of the Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in e-Government 2016 at the Sultan Qaboos University Cultural Centre today.
Out of 64 participating projects from 38 government units, private and SMEs institutions, only 11 projects will be honoured.
This year, the award contains 11 categories distributed for government, private and SMEs sectors.
The government sector entities can compete in 8 different categories, namely: Best e-Service including (G2E, G2B), Best e-Services via Mobile including (G2E, G2B), Best whole of government Project, Best service supporting doing business, Best e-participation for decision making initiative, Best e-transformation achievement. Whereas the private sector’s large organizations can compete in two categories, namely: Best Public eService and Best Public Mobile eService. Private sector ICT Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) can participate, in one category: Best SME eService.
