Ali Al Habsi thanks fans on national team recall

Muscat: Veteran Oman goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi has thanked the fans of his club Al Hilal for their support, as he joins up with the national team at a training camp in Muscat.
Oman play against the Philippines on 13 October, followed by a match against Ecuador on the 16th.
Manager Pim Verbeek has called up his players for a training camp ahead of the games, and Al Habsi took to social media to wish his teammates well.
“All my thanks to the wonderful Al Hilal fans, and to my fellow players,” said Al Habsi. “God willing, the next stage is better. I go to Muscat now to join the national team camp.”
Al Habsi was unfortunately left out of Oman’s victorious Gulf Cup victory in Kuwait earlier this year, after Al Hilal refused to release him for the tournament.
However, the 36-year-old was recalled by Verbeek for games against Jordan and Lebanon in September, and is expected to play some part in Oman’s AFC Asian Cup tournament next year.
